xbox lockheart | Microsoft Will Bring A Cheap Xbox Named Xbox Lockheart

Microsoft's next-gen Xbox console code-named project scarlet does not arrive until the 2020 holiday shopping season. which means, for now, we have nothing better to do than read the leakes coming for the next-gen console.

Recently we've got our eyes on a new report from kotaku which claims that Microsoft is working on a more affordable diskless version of the next-gen console. This affordable console is code-named Lockhart.

This is just the latest chapter of speculation reporting about Microsoft's plans. Back in 2018 reports the press suggested that Microsoft plan to release two next-gen consoles.
One of them is a traditional console with high-end specs and other one is a cheaper cloud-based console.

But when Microsoft finally shared it's official details on project scarlet at E3 back in June this year, Xbox Chief Bill Spencer did not mention a cheaper console just the higher-end one code-named Scarlett.

At that time the verge also reported that Microsoft had scrapped plans for Lockhart code-named console several weeks before that big E3 project scarlet announcement.

All of this brings us to today ,if Kotoko's report is true it means Microsoft either revived its plan for a cheaper console or never abandoned it in the first place.

Based on the report yet, it sounds like Lockhart is going to be less powerful than Scarlett and wil be kind of like a spiritual successor to the Xbox 1s digital edition which would make

sense if project Scarlett is meant to replace the high end console Xbox one X .
One developer told Kotaku that Lockhart features similar specifications to the PlayStation 4 Pro, though it reportedly includes a SSD and a faster processor than what you'll find in any current gen console.

Kotaku also reports that Microsoft is aiming for the Lockheart console to render most games at 1440p and 60 frames per second, we'll see how that goes.

Unfortunately nothing is known yet about a possible price or availability date. we don't even know if it will come out the same holiday season as project Scarlett.

Any further update we get we will surely let you know.
