Nvidia Geforce now has technically existed for almost 5 years far longer than google stadia and Microsoft X cloud but after some time testing in the beta mode Nvidia Geforce now is officially launched and we've gone hands-on to give you the review of Nvidia Geforce now.

from the offset, Nvidia Geforce now has been in beta or preview for a little while now already so this is the full launch Nvidia Geforce now.

Nvidia Geforce now comes in two flavors a free time-limited tier and a premium tier named founder's edition for a monthly subscription of 4.99$.

Geforce now free version gives you access to your games at 1080p and 60 minutes of gameplay at most in a gaming session.

the premium founders Edition with 4.99$ monthly subscription version gives you up to 4  hours of uninterrupted dedicated gaming time per session with ray-tracing from RTX 2080 card at up to 1080p.

unfortunately, Geforce now doesn't support gaming at 4k resolution not in the free version nor in the premium founders edition.

the other caveat with Geforce now is that you need an existing game library unless you're happy to play only handfull os free-to-play titles in Geforce now or spend some cash to build your own game library.

one benefit with Nvidia Geforce now is the Geforce now does let you access your existing game library like Origen, steam, you play and epic games libraries for gaming.

right now by allowing other game libraries for Nvidia Geforce now Nvidia has made the Geforce now the largest of gaming streaming service by game volume.

very much like google stadia Nvidia GeForce now works across devices and Geforce now has support for almost all Android smartphones, tablets, desktop and even including Nvidia shield under TV hardware.

so this is kind of got a bit of an advantage for Geforce now in terms of the platform supported in the stream service regard.

each interface in Geforce now follows a similar pattern to each other but the experience in Geforce now is a little inconsistent and relies heavily upon steam, new play and so on and so forth.

this inconsistent experience in Geforce now does mean though that Geforce now can be quite convoluted and a bit finicky depending on which device you're using at the time to play your games.

we predominantly tested Geforce now on mobile and desktop and we found that each service in Geforce now differed in how it handled mobile and tablet devices

luckily steam has big picture mode which makes things easier but we're getting ahead of ourselves as you do need to add your existing games to your GeForce now library to get playing.

one other gripe with the Geforce now is not all games are compatible with Geforce now and you'll find out and that makes a lot of games to be unplayable in Geforce now.

GeForce now will determine which service you launch a game from. this means that if you want a game on Steam but not on the origin and Geforce now launches from origin you actually won't be able to play any games which are a major frustration for us and a big con for Geforce now.

you might also encounter plenty of sign-in prompts in Geforce now from each service which does become pretty tiresome after a while but we do realize it is a necessary evil to be safe.

although once you do sign into each account in Geforce now you shouldn't be logged out unless an issue is encountered in the Geforce now service.

the main Geforce now interface on mobile is simple and easy to navigate and once you've launched into your games inside Geforce now they load in a 16:9 aspect ratio as is often the case with most games.

Nvidia Geforce now has made it easy to play without a controller or a Mouse by adding on-screen control layouts in the Geforce now so you can play the game without extra accessories.

the on-screen controlling layout in Geforce now are difficult to get to grips with, and one thing I will say for certain is you better off picking up a controller for a far more better experience in the Geforce now.

when gaming in Geforce now with a connected Bluetooth gamepad I must admit the experience is exceptional and better than the google stadia. but good gameplay in GeForce now is heavily dependent on your network connection.

Nvidia suggests at least a 50 megabits per second connection for optimum performance in Geforce now which is quite high but 25 megabits are the suggested minimum for gameplay.

although we are aware that you can game on Geforce now with a 10 megabit per second connections but you have to just expect less appropriate performance from Geforce now.

we did all of our tasing in Geforce now on a 300 megabits per second connection and as you can imagine I encountered very few issues when playing my favorite titles in Geforce now.

in our tasting of the Geforce now the frame was smooth, the connection remains solid and it was a good experience as playing on stadia with the connection.

NVIDIA GeForce now does support 4G connections for Geforce now and in gaming on a weaker 4G connection in Geforce now was of course far worse than a good connection.

the latency jumped up massively and the experience was nowhere near perfect for gaming in Geforce now.  in the Geforce now warnings will pop of course if your connection starts to weaken and Geforce now will warn you that performance is going to be affected.

with all that said in optimal conditions the gameplay in Geforce now is very good. framerate was stable and it felt great being able to play PC exclusives and triple-a titles on my mobile with a gamepad on Geforce now.

but there will be a disadvantage in Geforce now like we all know that a mouse and keyboard is far superior in online FPS gaming rather than a gamepad or touch controls.

even with some issues we faced in our Geforce now testing in our phone the GeForce now looks to be in more PC focus streaming service that is definitely worth trying out if you have a solid library of PC games that tend to be cheaper.

Nvidia Geforce now feels more like a compliment to goggle stadia or rather than outright competition especially as you can play for free for up to 60 minutes at a time if you want to.

with our mind Nvidia Geforce now definitely worth trying out for yourself if you haven't done so if you have already.

let us know down in the comment section below how you found it with all of that said though Geforce now is a solid game streaming platform and we'll be keeping a close eye on as it develops over time.
